Prophecies
for choir and piano/organ
Prophecies is a short seven minute piece that is taken from the last movement of The Angry Garden, a five-movement work for soli, choir, and orchestra that was written to highlight the issue of climate change.
Although Prophecies is intended to be sung without break from beginning to end, I have divided it into four sections -
I - The Signs Of Change
II - Crawl Into The Ransacked Garden
III - And So The Prophecies Have Come To Pass
IV - Silence
This allows a choir to adjust the piece and select sections that may suit a level of difficulty or other considerations such as programming. Thus, section three, ’And So The Prophecies Have Come To Pass’ could be a stand-alone item lasting just one minute, or added to by another section such as ’Silence’.
A small number of markings on the piano/organ accompaniment apply only to performance on the organ.
To help with the wider availability of Prophecies this page contains the full score for choir and piano/organ accompaniment, individual parts for each section of the choir, and playable tracks that can help choir members learn the lines. All items, full score, parts, and playable tracks may be used free of charge and photocopied.
Hard copies of the full score are now available and can be provided free of charge when purchasing a copy of The Angry Garden/Silvered Night CD. The printed score is also available separately from the shop (scores) but for larger orders do please get in touch through the contact page.
