Tales From The 15th Floor
This piece for cello and piano, inspired by Michael's four-month stay in intensive care in 1977 following a serious illness, was recorded by Karen Stephenson (cello) and Sophia Rahman (piano) on January 22nd 2023 at the Henry Wood Hall. The session was engineered by Classic Sound, who also edited the recording ready for inclusion on the CD When The Light Shines, to be released in October 2023.

Tales From The 15th Floor was premiered by Bridget MacRae (principal cellist, Munich Chamber Orchestra) and Roberto Russo in Italy in 2003 (Sept 7th Ascoli/ Sept 8th Grottammare).
